Achievements
DISOP has provided school bags, cloths and exercise books to two schools since the NGO’s inception. It has also assisted a physically challenged to gain admission to the Accra Rehabilitation Centre near Adabraka polyclinic.It has been able to empower Six members to run their small businesses DISOP has collaboration with the chief of Kpone-Katamanso, been allocated a vast tract of land for the development for a Skills Development centre. It has also undertaken a feeding project for over 1000 children in collaboration with some missionaries from U.SA.
Currently the foundation organises yearly Christmas and Easter parties for it Members who for one reason or the other as a result of no fault of theirs happen to be Disabled that has been declared as out casts by some of their relative as beneficiaries . As part of it registration process a feeding/registration exercise for about 350 disabled people in odumase krobo in the Eastern Region of Ghana.
Disop has also organized a feeding project for about 500 disabled people at the odumase krobo which gave them the hope that though they are physically handicapped they are recognised among people and this activity made it possible for counselling to be given to them with the hope and assurance that their physical state of condition can not deny them of their talent that is within them but with this assurance at the back of their mind they can really be successful in life because life has no limits on the physical since disability is not inability. Dsop in collaboration with the Member of parliament for the this area has being able to inaugurate its Branch at Assesewa when the New District was created.
The organization has also collaborated with Wheels for the world to provide over 300 walking aids to it needy members .It has also distributed over 200 pieces of used clothes to it members as a gift from friends of Disop . Carries out Advocacy on the rights of the Disabled and is a member of the Council for people with disability since it founder was one of the voices in its Inauguration at the Presidency . This and many others are the achievements of Disop.
